November is going to be all about sewing for me. One new thing I'm working on is a clutch. I want to sew clutches, a medium purse that you tuck under your arm. It isn't the most practical bag since there are no straps. It isn't the biggest bag either. So why do I want one? It's just a pretty idea. I want one myself but I want to make it myself.
Attempt number one was not photographed. Here is my second one. Definitely needs improvement. I'll keep adapting it as I sew along. It looks so easy to sew but it's a bit tricky for me to get it right. I'll keep trying.

I was planning to sew 100 bags today but..... Oh yeah, I have a two year old. Julia woke up from her nap mid-sewing-extravaganza. Needless to say I had to put some of the items I was sewing on hold for another day. At least she's cute.

I love this one. It's khaki pants, cut up. Then I sewed this incredible ribbon on top. I've wanted to sew with this ribbon for over a year, ever since I first saw it at The Ribbon Studio over in Wolfeboro. The cost of the ribbon, unfortunately, makes it challenging. I wouldn't want to waste any. And if I sell it, I'll have to cover the costs in my price, which could make the item too expensive to sell. Luckily today I didn't make any wasteful errors and the little zippered pouch came out nicely. The textures are great.

I also sewed this one, which is pretty basic but at the last minute I decided to curve the bottom edges and topstitch the whole way around. I like how that came out. Maybe I'll top stitch my next clutch.

So it was a good November day. Mom stuff, exercise, sewing. Pretty good. Would have been nice to get outside for a walk. Never enough time in the day.
