Mid-Summer Dream

This is the middle of summer for us here in New Hampshire. Kids are swimming. The sun is shining. Tourists are buzzing about. The days are long. Most people are a little more relaxed than usual. Nobody is thinking about raking the snow off of rooftops.
The garden enters a new phase. Gone are the daily rain drops of early summer. Now the plants are grown and trying to produce. Flowers catch the eye. Plants need every drop to keep the show going.
Days like today I could just hang out in the garden. Wish I had a bed or hammock. Fall asleep to the babble of the brook or the simple quiet.
People come up here by the bus load to get away and relax with nature.  I wonder if they make it far enough from the bus to have that happen.  You've got to get out to the woods or the lake, far enough from the road, close enough to the earth or the water.
Sleep. Nap. Doze. Lose your page in your book.
